We have the opportunity to minister in the summer camps the Baptist church puts on every year. There are three camps, starting the end of June and going to the end of July. One of the camps is specifically geared toward the orphans in the area. We are hoping to be able to take the whole family for these camps, and possibly helping out with the music for one of them.
Some of the orphan kids want to attend the camp but are not able to because of finances. The camp costs 3000 rubles per child, which comes out to be about $100 for 12 days. If you would like to help sponsor a child for the camp, please let us know.
In other news, Rachel and the girls were not able to attend church today because it was raining. In the States this never would have been a problem, but unfortunately, an umbrella is on the list of things we have yet to buy! Rachel did not want to walk the 4 blocks from the bus stop to the church carrying kids without an umbrella, so Jason went alone. He was blessed, though, by good conversations and the most opportunities that he has had, so far, to speak Russian at church.
