We were never able to give Samir the Bible. He was able to complete his project without it. Even though we weren't able to give it to him, the fact that he asked us for one opened up good conversations between him and Jason. Jason was able to communicate the fact that we have read the Bible through; and also read it on a regular basis. This seemed to surprise him. We do not know how much he knows about the Bible, seeing as he has never read it, or how well he knows the Quran. We know that our Father was in control of this situation and we trust that He will provide more opportunities for us to share the Truth with Samir.
Please also pray specifically for Samir's health. He told us a week ago that he has herniated a disk in his back. He said the doctors were going to start giving him four shots a day in his back. This will go on for 30 days. Because of this fact, and his school schedule, we have not been able to have him over for pizza yet. We are still hopeful though!
On a side note, today we have been praising the Lord for our water! Three days ago they (whoever 'they' are) shut off the water for the whole city. Last night they turned it back on. We are so thankful to be able to take showers and wash our dishes and laundry again! Thank you Jesus! According to our teacher, Irina, the fact that the water was going off for two days was commonly known. So apparently we were the only ones who missed the memo....
