Kids Camp

This past weekend we had the privilege of helping out with our church's kids camp, held for kids from kindergarden to junior high. It was a blessing to get to know some of the kids whose families started coming to church while we were in Russia - there are a lot of them!

The camp ran from Thursday to Saturday and was held up in the mountains with the bears, mosquitoes, marmots, chipmunks, snakes, and screech owls (Rachel's personal favorite). We were grateful to have a little cabin all to ourselves, complete with a full-sized bed and a little heater.

The focus of the camp was the last part of Galatians 5:13 - "...through love serve one another." Jason was able to teach two sessions with the junior high kids and one with the elementry kids. He was blessed to have those opportunities, and we were also blessed to get positive feedback from the kids (and even a parent!).

In other news, we are so blessed to know that our Father is faithfully providing our every need. Though Jason is still on the lookout for a job, he has been keeping very busy doing yard work and freelance web design, as well as helping with construction at our church building.

Rachel is going pretty well this last stretch of the pregnancy (other than being tired and a little achy). It's crazy to think that in less than two months we will have three children (well, we really already do... and that's not counting Jason....)!

Both the girls are getting settled in to the new home and beginning to get used to Sunday school. They still ask every now and again if we are "going to go home" and when we left for camp they actually thought we were going back to Russia. Mercy said good-bye to everything on the way out of town: "Good-bye house, good-bye birds, good-bye cars...."  :o)

Next month our church is going to two services on Sunday morning. We are praying about how the Lord would have us serve and would appreciate your prayers as well. We are so blessed to know that we are still held up to our Father in prayer - thank you so much!
