Dear Family & Friends,

We are continually thankful for all your prayers, support and encouragement. We are so blessed to be a part of the Family of God!

We hope that this update finds you all well. As for us, August has been a month full of runny noses, hacking coughs, and tummy aches. Hopefully we are all on the mend and next month will be a little less eventful in those areas.

Since camp last month, we have been excited to see eight of the orphans attend our church here in Blagoveshchensk regularly. Whether it is a desire to know more about the Lord that is bringing them, or a need for the love they found in the believers, we are glad to see them and hope they keep coming. Please continue to pray that these children will be drawn to God.

During the month that we have been back in Blago, we have weathered 3 weeks (and counting) without hot water, as the city does maintenance on the hot water pipes. Jason has given freezing cold showers a try, but Rachel has opted for mixing hot water from the stove with cold water from the faucet and taking a “bucket bath.” Needless to say, we have been rethinking the frequency of our showers!

As September begins, our Russian classes will be starting up again. We have enjoyed our summer break during the months of July and August, and are thankful for the rest the Lord provided us with. Please pray that as we start up classes the Lord will continue to bless our learning, and our relationship with our teacher, Irina.

We are also hopeful that, as summer is over, we will get to see our friends Samir and Nick again. Please pray with us that the Lord will guide our conversations with them and use us to be a light.

Thank you all, again, for your prayers and support. We are blessed to be here in Blagoveshchensk and excited to be able to share this opportunity with you!
