Sorry we haven't gotten this up here sooner, but late is better than never. Please keep this in your prayers!
A few months ago we were informed at a camp meeting that the director of the orphan camps is stepping down. As there is no one to fill his position, there will consequently be no orphan camp this year. However, the director of the camp for the church teens has recently invited the orphans to his camp if they can raise the money.
Last year, in addition to what you gave for the orphans, various mission groups and business in the area sent support as well. This year though, since the director has stepped down, all of these organizations have withdrawn their support. This means that, although the orphans are invited to the teen camp, they are unable to attend due to financial reasons.
We are writing to ask you to pray about whether the Lord would have you support an orphan for the teen camp. Though it will be held this summer (July) we are asking for pledges now so that we will be able to pass the money on to the church here before we leave on the second Saturday in May. We ask that you have your responses to us by Wednesday, May 5th. Once we leave Russia, we have no way to get the money to the church here.
The cost for one orphan to attend the 12 day camp is roughly $120.00 USD. Any amount would be appreciated to help these children attend! If the Lord lays it on your heart to support an orphan, please send us an e-mail by May 5th letting us know the amount, and then send a check to Calvary Chapel Bozeman (address below), with a note specifying that it is for the orphans in Blago. If you cannot sent money within the two week period, but would still like to support an orphan, please send us an e-mail by May 5th with your pledge amount, and you can reimburse us by July.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support for these children, and for giving them the opportunity to attend a camp where they will be shown the love and truth of Christ!
