A few days ago, Rosa, who is one of Jason's Chinese classmates, introduced Jason to Natasha, a first year Chinese/English major. Natasha didn't know there where any native English speakers in Blago, and was very excited to meet one. She was also excited to meet Jason's wife, and called Rachel that evening to set up a meeting.
So this evening Rachel and the girls met Natasha at the playground out in front of our building. While pushing the girls on the swings, they were able to hit it off to a good start. After discussing a variety of 'small' topics, such as banyas, old people's health remedies, and Chinese food, Natasha started asking questions about why we had chosen to come to Russia. Rachel was able to explain how we came here because God had told us to come. They then went on to discuss teenage pregnancy, marriage, and children before going up to the flat for some tea!
Natasha left saying that she is excited to meet with us again, and would like us to come to the student dorm so that she can ask us questions about how different it is than American dorms. :o) Please keep Natasha and our new relationship with her in your prayers, and praise the Lord that He continues to use us even as we prepare to head back to the States.
