While here in Blagoveshchensk, we have been blessed to be able to attend one of the local Baptist churches. It is an encouragement to come so far away from home and find a body of believers building one another up in the grace and truth of the One Lord of all! Since coming here, the greatest desire of my (Jason) heart for this church body has been to see it branch out into the city by forming small groups and meeting regularly throughout the week in homes to pray and fellowship. In this way, the church would be able to touch more lives and hearts in the city.
Well, this past Sunday at church, I received some exciting news from a brother who serves in the church. He said that the "brothers" of the church body will be meeting at the end of October to pray and plan on how to put a small group system in place. I was also informed that a similar endeavor was undertaken a while back, but was shortly thereafter dismissed for reasons that were not explained to me.
Please partner with us in prayer for this endeavor! May it be led by the Lord, and may He thwart any attempt to frustrate His plans! May the body operate together in unity to the glory of the Father that the world might see and hear and believe the wonderful news that He has for them. We will keep you up to date on any further developments.
